The most famous dress in the world or not

Why do some dresses are never forgotten? Does it have to do with design, tissue chosen, brand? I would be inclined to say that it’s a mix of all adding the personality of the person who is wearing it. Maybe you can have a different opinion from mine, and that’s great, but here is a small selection I picked for myself:

This is one of my favorites, and one of the most contradictory as well, the famous toutou from Carrie Bradshaw. It is said to be found in a vintage shop by Patricia Field the famous stylist in charge of Sex and the city:

If there is a dress who brings me childhood thoughts that’s the one, I can’t get tired of seeing the iconic movie and spend hours trying to figure if I love the story, the costumes or the actors. Designed by legendary costume designer Adrian, each dress was made out of cheap gingham and sewn roughly together on a trundle sewing machine, so that it looked like it could have been made by Dorothy’s Auntie:

The white pleated dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch back will never be forgotten. Created by costume designer William Travilla and it was sold for over $5.6 million at a 2011 auction:

Lovely Diana, how I dreamed of becoming her daughter in law when I was a kid (yeah, now I pass, he’s better with Katie). One of the images and the dress I could never forget was the black Victor Edelstein she wore when she danced with Travolta in the White House:

As we are talking about royalty, we cannot forget the dress who made up a story. The wedding dress of Queen Victoria, the first woman to get married wearing white, without realizing she created a last forever tradition:

The history’s most famous Little Black Dress, a Givenchy design featured on the 1961 Breakfast at Tiffany’s film posters worldwide. The dress is now one of many currently on display at the V&A’s Hollywood Costume exhibition.

Well, well, well JLo. Sorry Donatella, but I don’t like this dress, but it got famous and unforgettable, so I have to include in this list:

Imagine yourself being invited to the wedding of that cousin you hate, and you just don’t know what to do to pisses her off, well do like Bjork and go wild (literally):

And I will finish this list with the “youngest” of them all, but it will surely enter the history, as it was worn by someone who will be remembered. The famous Jason Wu worn by Michelle Obama, I would just steal her entire wardrobe:
